Game Lore:
This is a "re imagination" of the Artorias the Abyss Walker boss battle from dark souls 1, with the twist being that Artorias is at his best, untouched by the abyss.
In this game, you play as an Abyss Watcher, half corrupted, who has travelled back in time to kill Artorias before he faces the abyss, hoping that in return, the Abyss Watchers themselves , who follow the footsteps of Artorias, would never exist.
